The reasonable way

Most goats are sold like livestock.
Ours are placed like family.

Buying a Nigerian Dwarf shouldn't feel like a gamble — wondering about bloodlines, testing, or whether the breeder will pick up the phone after you've paid.

We do things differently. Every kid leaves with full registration papers, health records, a personalised care guide, and lifetime breeder support.

Our story

A homestead built on the belief that good farming is good ethics.

Hames & Axle began as a personal commitment: raise a small number of animals, really well, and tell the truth about how it's done. No marketing fluff. No factory-farm shortcuts. Just a multi-generational love of the land and the goats who graze it.

Kind words

The kind of reviews you can't fake.

"We drove four hours to pick up our doe and it was worth every mile. The transparency, the records, the follow-up — it's a different league."

Sarah M.

First-time goat owner

"Our buckling settled in within hours. Friendly, healthy, and clearly loved from day one. The care guide answered questions we didn't know we had."

James & Priya

"I've bought from three breeders. Hames & Axle is the only one who still picks up the phone two years later."

Don't see your question? Ask us directly.

Are your goats registered?

Yes. Every Hames & Axle Nigerian Dwarf is registered with ADGA, with full pedigree papers and DNA on request.

Pet/wether placements start around $250. Registered does range from $450–$900 depending on lineage and conformation. Reservations require a 25% deposit.

What support do you offer after I take my goat home?

Lifetime. You get a personalised care guide, our private owners' group, and direct access to us by phone, text, or email.

Can I visit before buying?
